The Five Best Budget Planners
1. Clever Fox Budget Planner
Pros
The budget planner includes builti-in pocket folder to store receipts and bills
Built-in pen and pen holder
Tons of cover colours to choose from
Money back guarantee from the manufacturer
5.3”W X 7.7”H
Cons
- The binding style does not let the book lay flat. (Although this is not as bad as some of the other planners)
- There are no tabs to separate monthly/weekly notes
The Clever Fox Budget Planner is an amazing budgeting notebook to help you organize your finances, track your spending and save money. It is also perfect for beginners as it comes with a quick start guide to set you on your financial journey.
It is super portable and lightweight! This budget planner comes in an A5 size and features a lovely leatherette hardcover with a band to keep all your financial information in shape.
I love that the Clever Fox Budget Planner can keep everything in one place! It comes with a built-in pen holder, a pocket to hold all your bills, receipts, and extra cash so you can track your overall cash flow, spending, and debt repayments all in one place.
If you are a goal setter, look no further. The Clever Fox Budget Planner has tons of pages to set your financial goals (and there are plenty of pages so there’s no risk of running out of room!) and gain financial stability.
One thing to note with this budget planner is that there are no tabs to separate weekly notes, monthly notes, and the monthly calendar and I found this a little cumbersome. I would have preferred to have tabs for these to easily access these pages. The pages do not lay completely flat when you are writing, so this may prove a problem for some.
2. Erin Condren Petite Financial Planner
Pros
Lots of budget planner designs to choose from, each with a fun, vibrant cover and inspirational quote
Lots of designs to choose from, each with a fun, vibrant cover and inspirational quote
A built-in pocket folder to keep cash, receipts, and bills to organize your finances
Budgeting notebook with preadsheets to track your bills and spending logs
Budgeting checklists to keep your spending on track
Beautiful gold financial stickers that are functional and decorative at the same time that are perfect for goal setting
5.3”W X 7.7”H
Cons
- No monthly calendar
- Not refillable
The Erin Condren Petite Financial Planner is colorful and breezy, with a beautiful inspirational quote on the cover. It is one of the few budget planners that actually makes me want to pick it up and start budgeting!
In my opinion, this is what makes it one of the best budget planners for beginners! There are lots of designs to choose from and everything about this budget planner makes organizing your finances FUN and motivating!
The Erin Condren Petite Financial Planner contains 12 months of budget tracking spreads. You don’t have to start in January as they are unnamed. It contains a lot of worksheets including spending logs to track your purchases, budgeting checklists, and goal setting worksheets.
This budget planner makes it super easy to set your financial and saving goals, track your debts, debt repayments and debt payoff for the year with the yearly overview.
This planner is stylish while being portable and lightweight. While there is no monthly calendar and it is not refillable, it is excellent for the price.
3. BoxClever Press Budget Planner
Pros
This budgeting notebook has not one but THIRTEEN pockets to store bills, receipts and cash to organise your finances
Very spacious which allows you to write easily
Seasonal savings section to keep all your holiday budgets in track
Separate weekly and daily planner sections
8″W x 9.5″H – A5 size
Cons
- Not as portable as the other budget planners
- Not refillable
The Box Clever Budget Planner is one of Amazon’s highest-rated budget planners. This is no compact planner – it has a larger size, which is very useful if you have bigger handwriting, or you just have a lot to write when planning your budget.
This budget planner is very comprehensive and even has separate sections for all your seasonal holiday savings goals. While it is not compact, it is amazingly well made and one of the only budget planners on this list that lays flat when writing because of its copper spiral binding.
The Box Clever Budget Planner has different sections for daily and weekly budget tracking, debt tracking, debt repayment plans, and payoff progress. There are a total of 6 pages for each month: three pages for your regular monthly expenditures, one page for tracking your income, one page for tracking savings, one for the monthly budget and one to summarise all your finances for the month
There are a total of 13 interior pockets, absolutely perfect for storing all your receipts, bills, and extra cash all in one place.
All these features make this budgeting notebook one of the best financial budget planners out there!
While this budget planner is comprehensive, it is not as portable as some of the other options on this list. It also does not come with any refillable pages.
4. Limitless Mindset Budget Planner
Pros
This financial budget planner has 3 Built-in cash envelopes
Very spacious which allows you to write easily
Two undated years
Two pockets to store all your bills and receipts to better organise your finances
Decorative financial stickers that are perfect for goal setting
6″W x 9″H
Cons
- Pages do not lie flat when writing
- Not refillable
The Limitless Mindset Budget Planner is perfect for those who use a cash envelope budget as this planner is the only one on this list that comes with its own cash envelopes! This is truly an all-in-one budget planner and very well suited for couples and families.
It features a faux leather cover and comes in a larger 6″W x 9″H size, and is therefore ideal if you are planning a budget for more than one person or if you just love writing a lot! Hey, I do too.
This budget planner comes with two sets of stickers to help organise your finances, as well as a custom pen just for you! It contains two pockets – one at the front and one at the back – to store your receipts and bills.
Included in the planner are worksheets for spending, debt repayment, expense tracker, income log and bill repayments. It also contains three cash envelopes.
I like that this budget planner includes two full years that are undated – so you can start at any time and you do not have to purchase another planner for two years.
The 6×9 size of the Limitless Mindset Budget Planner is quite portable, however, the pages do not lie flat when writing in it, and it does not include any refillable pages, so you do have to buy a new planner at the end of two years.
While the 80gsm paper might be too thin for some people, it works fine to record all your financial details, and this is a solid choice for a budget planner and also comes highly reviewed on Amazon.
5. GoGirl Budget Planner
Pros
Two pockets to store all your bills and receipts to better organise your finances
Very portable, easy to carry in a handbag
Twelve undated months
91 beautiful stickers
Built-in pen and pen holder
5.3”W X 7.7”H
Cons
- Pages do not lie flat when writing

The GoGirl Budget Planner is another brilliant planner, being both minimalistic and stylish. It is one of the more affordable options on this list, thus making it perfect for beginners who do not want to splurge on a first planner.
This budget planner comes in a compact 5.3” X 7.7” size, making it super portable. It has a beautiful PU vegan leather cover with multiple colour options and 120gsm paper.
The GoGirl Budget Planner comes with 91 beautiful stickers to help organise your finances, as well as a built-in pen and pen holder, and pockets to store all bills and receipts – perfect for tracking your spending, savings goals, debt and debt repayments for each month.
There are twelve undated months, in this planner, and so you can start at any time of the year, and there is even a Christmas budget section!
While this budget planner may not be as comprehensive as some of the others on this list, it is ideal if you are a beginner and do not want to splurge on a bigger planner, or if you need a small size to carry around with you.
